The move comes after Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi ordered the immediate withdrawal of a 60,000-metric-tonne shipment of Super Petrol imported outside the Government-to-Government fuel supply system, warning that the move was necessary to protect Kenya’s pricing and supply stability.

According to the agency, statements have already been taken from several witnesses and individuals under investigation, among them top government officials and representatives of One Petroleum Limited. Executives from Ory Energy Limited have also been called in to record their statements as part of efforts to piece together the circumstances surrounding the deal.
