Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called on residents of Kenya’s coastal region to back President William Ruto’s bid for a second term, highlighting ongoing government investments worth billions of shillings aimed at transforming the area’s infrastructure and economy.
Addressing a Resource Mobilization event for Small Scale Traders in Lunga Lunga Constituency, Kwale County, on Saturday, DP Kindiki said several projects are already underway across the coastal counties and are expected to be completed soon for the benefit of local communities.
“We are constructing roads, expanding electricity connection, ensuring the blue economy is beneficial to the residents, affordable housing projects are going on, international stadiums, modern markets and empowerment of the youth, women and other development initiatives,” he said.
The Deputy President emphasized that President Ruto’s government is implementing a nationwide development agenda, with special attention on Kwale and other coastal counties.
“The call for two terms is about sustainable development in roads, electricity connectivity, youth empowerment through NYOTA, women empowerment, the blue economy, and affordable housing,” he added.

DP Kindiki did not shy away from criticizing political opponents, saying they offer nothing but divisive rhetoric.
“Our opponents always come here and leave without any mention on how they will improve roads, expand electricity or improve the blue economy. They only focus on divisive politics and useless slogans and who should serve for one term. There is no place for them here,” he said.
