The Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Qatar, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkiye condemned illegal Israeli decisions aimed at imposing unlawful Israeli sovereignty in the occupied West Bank, warning that these actions undermine peace efforts and violate international law, calling for urgent global intervention.
In a joint statement released on Monday, the ministers denounced the illegal Israeli decisions and measures aimed at imposing unlawful Israeli sovereignty, entrenching settlement activity, and enforcing a new legal and administrative reality in the occupied West Bank.
They warned that these steps are accelerating attempts at illegal annexation and are displacing the Palestinian people, reaffirming that “Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory.”
The ministers expressed deep concern over the ongoing expansionist policies pursued by the Israeli government, which they say fuel violence and conflict in the region.
They strongly rejected the illegal actions, which constitute a blatant violation of international law, undermine the two-state solution, and represent an assault on the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to realize their independent and sovereign state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital.
These actions, according to the ministers, also undermine the ongoing efforts for peace and stability in the region, threatening to destabilize the fragile environment in which a just resolution might be found.
Emphasizing the illegality of the measures, the statement declared that these steps “are null and void and constitute a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 3334, which condemns all Israeli measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character, and status of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.”
The ministers further referenced the 2024 advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which found that Israel’s policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territory and its continued presence is illegal, affirming the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation and declaring the nullity of the annexation of occupied Palestinian lands.
The ministers renewed their appeal to the global community, urging the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities and to compel Israel to halt its dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank and the inciting statements of its officials.
They reaffirmed the importance of the Palestinian people’s rights to self-determination and statehood, emphasizing that these rights “based on the two-state solution in accordance with resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, remains the only path to achieving just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.”
The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reflects a broad consensus among key regional and Muslim-majority states on the gravity of Israel’s recent moves in the occupied territories.
It highlights the growing diplomatic pressure on Israel amid escalating tensions and the continuing stalemate in peace negotiations.
The ministers’ coordinated response marks a significant diplomatic intervention, sending a clear message that the expansion of settlements and the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over occupied Palestinian lands are unacceptable under international law.
Their united voice calls for renewed global engagement to halt a dangerous escalation that risks further violence and instability in one of the world’s most volatile regions.
