In Summary

Gusii UDA leaders, led by Silvanus Osoro, met President Ruto at State House, pledged to unite the region behind the government, and announced key road upgrades set to start in 2026.

The Gusii UDA “Tu-Tam chant” brigade, led by Majority Whip and South Mugirango legislator Silvanus Osoro, led several Gusii leaders to the house at the hill who recently decamped and joined the moving ship.

The Nyaribari Masaba MP, Daniel Manduku, who recently and publicly declared his support for President William Ruto in Kisii, was in the company of the leaders and former Bomachoge Borabu MP, Zadoc Ogutu, who recently as well resurfaced to join the brigade.

In an exclusive interview, Silvanus Osoro has vowed to unite the Gusii region, declaring that he will paint the Gusii region yellow in the forthcoming general elections.

''The chants of 'Ooh, one term and Ruto must go' are a gone case, and you will be surprised. You people join the moving ship, and as Gusii, we shall remain in the government led by President Ruto. In this Kisii County, we shall paint the region yellow, and we shall deliver. Sisi tuko kazi na tunapanga kazi kwa watu wetu, loosely translated to ‘We are working and working for our people.' Osoro stated.

Zaheer Jhanda (Nyaribari Chache) and Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira County) said that they’ve engaged the president on matters of development, as the supplementary budget is coming up in January to help them fulfil the promises on the ground.

“We went to the State House with one clear mission: to speak for the people of the Gusii region and push our development agenda as the supplementary budget approaches in January. To my people of Nyamira, I want you to know that I am fighting for you every single day to make sure our county moves forward, stays strong, and delivers real change for our people.” Jerusha affirmed.

Daniel Manduku (Nyaribari Masaba) revealed that from the statehouse meeting, ‘I am pleased to officially confirm that the Keroka–Ibacha–Kiamokama and the Nyanturago–Nyamasibi–The Ekona-Bong'onta roads have been approved for upgrading to bitumen standards, with construction set to commence in February 2026.’'

He added, "I will walk with UDA to secure my TUTAM, and I assure more development for my people. The party is so strong here in Gusii; it’s wise to walk with the government to secure more opportunities for our people.’’

The State House visit was also attended by Esther Okenyuri (UDA-nominated, Kisii County), Stephen Mogaka (West Mugirango), Irene Mayaka (ODM-nominated, Nyamira County), Jonah Onkendi (Bonchari MP aspirant), Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), Donya Dorice (Kisii County), and Japheth Nyakundi (Kitutu Chache North).
