Isiolo South MP Mohamed Tubi has passed away. Tubi died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula announced the lawmaker's demise through an official statement on Wednesday.
"It is with profound deep sorrow that I inform you and the nation of the demise of our esteemed colleague, the Member for Isiolo South Constituency, the Hon. Tubi Bidu Mohamed, MP, who has left us this evening, Wednesday, 12th November 2025, while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital," said the Speaker.
Speaker Wetang'ula called on lawmakers to remember the late MP for his service to the nation.
"Honourable Members, as we come to terms with this great loss, let us remember Hon. Tubi for his remarkable service and the positive impact he had on our nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, constituents and all those who had the privilege of knowing him," he added.
The legislator was elected in August 2022 under the Jubilee Party and was serving his first term.
Prior to his national role, he played a prominent part in county-level governance.
He previously served as the inaugural Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly from 2013 to 2017.
His professional career saw him grow through the ranks in the wildlife sector before joining politics.
Between 1993 and 1996, he served as Acting Warden-in-Charge at the Isiolo County Council.
From 1997 to 1999, he advanced to Game Warden and Senior Warden in the same council.
Mohamed Tubi then transitioned to Isiolo Parks as Chief Game Warden from 2004 to 2008, demonstrating deep experience in wildlife protection and park management.
He assumed the position of Chief Game Warden at Maasai Mara National Reserve under Narok County between 2009 and 2012.
He held the same role in Samburu Park from 2012 to 2013.
Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo described the late legislator as a principled, courageous, and dedicated leader committed to improving the lives of his constituents.
In a condolence message, Governor Guyo said the late MP’s passing is a great loss to Isiolo County and the nation.
“Deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. Mohamed Tubi Bidu, Member of Parliament for Isiolo South, this evening at Nairobi Hospital,” the Governor said.
“He was a principled and courageous leader, steadfast in his convictions and always guided by a deep desire to uplift the lives of his constituents and foster unity across our county.”
Governor Guyo paid tribute to the late Tubi’s service in public leadership, recalling his earlier role as the first Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly, where he played a central part in laying a firm foundation for the county’s devolved governance system.
“Hon. Tubi previously served with distinction as the first Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly, where he laid a strong foundation for the growth of our devolved governance system,” the statement read.
He said Tubi’s leadership left a lasting mark on the region, particularly through his dedication to good governance and community development.
“His passing is a profound loss not only to Isiolo South but to the entire Isiolo community and the nation at large,” Governor Guyo added.
