Speaking during an interview with Radio Generation, Kioni said his main mission as Secretary General was to revive the party, resolve internal disputes, and ensure it remained active and ready for the future.

Jubilee Party Deputy Leader Jeremiah Kioni says his move from Secretary General to Deputy Party Leader marks the completion of his task to stabilise the party and prepare it for the next phase of political work ahead of the 2027 election.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Generation, Kioni said his main mission as Secretary General was to revive the party, resolve internal disputes, and ensure it remained active and ready for the future.

“But the exercise that I needed to do was to get back to the party, back right feet, keep it alive for three years alone, and I completed it,” Kioni said on Tuesday.

The former Ndaragwa MP explained that Jubilee is now in a stronger position, with legal disputes resolved and a presidential candidate in place, allowing him to shift focus to selling the party and its agenda to the public.

“Make sure that we are now out of the court corridors, right, and even get to a point where I have a presidential candidate, we now have a presidential candidate,” he said.

“These are things once you have achieved, it’s important to move to the next. And the next thing is to sell the party to the people. Now, right? Go out to the people, sell the candidate, sell our alternative agenda, and ensure that we are looked at as the viable alternative, working with others within the opposition,” Kioni added.

Last week, the Jubilee Party announced several appointments to strengthen its structure ahead of the 2027 General Election. During a National Executive Council meeting chaired by party leader Uhuru Kenyatta, Kioni was appointed Deputy Party Leader in charge of Operations.

In his new role, he will oversee party operations from the grassroots to the national level, coordinate structures, and lead engagement with political and social partners. He will also help build alliances as the party positions itself within the opposition.

He will work alongside Fred Matiang’i, who became Deputy Party Leader in October 2025 and is also the party’s presidential candidate.

The party also appointed Moitalel Ole Kenta as Secretary General, Zack Kinuthia as Deputy Secretary General, Vincent Kemosi Mogaka as Chairperson, and Yassin Noor Haji as National Organising Secretary.

Dan Mwangi was named Executive Director, while Kembi Gitura was appointed Director of Elections.

At the county level, Nairobi MCA and Deputy Speaker Paul Kados was named chairperson of the MCA caucus. Former national chairman Saitoti Torome will lead the Jubilee Foundation and oversee public policy.

Kioni said the leadership changes are meant to rebuild the party and prepare it to compete strongly in 2027.

“These changes reflect a deliberate shift toward rebuilding a disciplined, well-structured, and nationally rooted party capable of articulating clear solutions to the challenges facing Kenyans in contrast to the policy confusion, economic pressure, and governance fatigue being experienced under the current administration,” he said.

He added that Jubilee remains focused on unity, social justice, economic recovery, and leadership that listens to citizens and delivers results.
