Speaking at the third funeral planning session held at Blue Springs Hotel, Baby Top shared that the former president also sent a heartfelt message of sympathy to the singer’s family.

The family of gospel singer Betty Bayo is receiving widespread support as preparations continue for her final farewell. Among the contributors is former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who has provided Sh1 million to assist with the burial arrangements.

The donation was handed over on Wednesday, November 13, 2025, by Kameme FM presenter Muthoni wa Kirumba, widely known as Baby Top.

Speaking at the third funeral planning session held at Blue Springs Hotel, Baby Top shared that the former president also sent a heartfelt message of sympathy to the singer’s family.

“Please extend my sympathies. We have also brought a donation sent by the 4th President of Kenya, whom I call Ichaweri 1, that is Uhuru Kenyatta,” she said, underscoring the personal regard he had for the late singer.

Baby Top explained that the contribution would be used to support the family and the funeral committee as they finalise arrangements for the ceremony set for Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Ndumberi Stadium.

“He has expressed his condolences to the family and sent Ksh1 million. The rest of the details will be shared later,” she added.

The main service will take place at Ndumberi Stadium, providing an opportunity for fans and the public to pay their respects. The burial will follow at a designated location, reserved for close family and friends.

The planning session attracted a number of notable personalities who came to offer assistance and share in mourning the gospel singer. Among those present were Mugiithi singer Waithaka Wa Jane, digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, gospel singer Shiru wa GP, social media influencer Karangu Muraya, and evangelist Lucy wa Ngujiri. Their presence highlighted the impact Betty Bayo had across different communities in Kenya.

A Life Cut Short

Betty Bayo, best known for her hit song Busy Busy, died on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Kenyatta National Hospital. She had been battling acute leukaemia and severe internal bleeding, first receiving treatment at AAR Hospital on Kiambu Road before being transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialised care.

Despite medical efforts, she passed away at exactly 1:03 pm, leaving behind her husband, Hiram Gitau, and a grieving fan base nationwide.

The burial committee has projected that the funeral arrangements at Ndumberi Stadium will cost close to Ksh5 million, with contributions from well-wishers and public figures helping to ease the financial burden on the family.
