In Summary

Nominated Senator Tabitha Mutinda outlines her 2027 vision for Nairobi, focusing on women and youth empowerment, tighter financial oversight, and a Land Amendment Bill to speed up long-running land cases.

Nominated Senator Tabitha Mutinda has emphasized on delivering concrete solutions for Nairobi residents.

Her focus, she says is on enhancing public services, promoting accountability, advancing youth empowerment, and ensuring justice in key areas such as land and labor.

Speaking on Friday on Radio Generation, she plans to support women’s groups across Nairobi, enabling them to develop income-generating projects and become self-reliant.

Her goal is to create sustainable initiatives that reduce dependency on external support and build long-term economic independence for communities.

“My ambition for Woman Rep is to continue empowering women,” she stated, emphasizing her commitment to practical programs that transform lives.

Mutinda also emphasized on inclusive development. She plans to integrate boys into empowerment initiatives to ensure balanced opportunities for all youth.

“We need to have the men in the room. We’ve really empowered the girl child so much, we’ve forgotten the boy child,” she explained. By providing skills, mentorship, and leadership opportunities for both genders, she intends to foster a generation of young people equipped to contribute equally to society.

Her legislative and oversight work forms another critical focus. As Vice Chair of Finance and Budget, Mutinda plans to continue monitoring county fund allocations to ensure resources reach communities efficiently.

She also intends to strengthen oversight in sectors like health and labor, identifying inefficiencies and proposing practical improvements that directly impact citizens’ lives.

A key legislative initiative she plans to pursue is the Land Amendment Bill, designed to limit land cases to two years.

The bill seeks to ensure that land cases are resolved within a maximum of two years, addressing a longstanding problem where cases often drag on for decades.

“People have suffered years in, years out. Let’s get done,” she said. By streamlining legal processes, Mutinda seeks to reduce unnecessary delays, prevent prolonged suffering for families, and create a more equitable justice system.

Beyond legislation, Mutinda has demonstrated a hands-on approach to community solutions. As nominated senators do not receive project funding, she has used personal resources to finance local initiatives, women-led groups, and youth programs.

As a Woman Representative for Nairobi County, she intends to expand these projects, ensuring Nairobi residents have access to tools and opportunities for self-reliance and sustainable development.

Citizen engagement is central to Mutinda’s strategy. She prioritizes listening to residents’ concerns, identifying gaps in services, and responding with immediate, actionable solutions.

This approach ensures that initiatives are informed by real needs on the ground and produce measurable results, rather than simply serving political ambitions.

Mutinda’s broader vision for Nairobi encompasses accountable governance, empowerment, and justice reform.

The Senator intends to monitor resource allocation, advocate for equitable service delivery, and empower communities through sustainable programs.

Her aim is to ensure that every Nairobi resident benefits from initiatives that improve livelihoods, protect rights, and enhance quality of life.

Senator Tabitha Mutinda’s 2027 vision focuses on creating tangible solutions that make a measurable difference in Nairobi.

Through women and youth empowerment, financial oversight, legislative reforms, and inclusive community initiatives, she aims to deliver impactful change. Her approach prioritizes service and action over politics, reflecting a commitment to improving the lives of citizens across Nairobi.
