ODM party leader Senator Oburu Oginga has urged Kenyans to embrace unity, dialogue, and national cohesion as the country steps into the New Year 2026, saying collective effort remains the nation’s greatest strength.
In his New Year message dated December 31, 2025, Oginga reflected on the challenges of the past year, noting that 2025 tested the resilience of Kenyans across all sectors.
Despite the hardships, he said the country demonstrated remarkable endurance and solidarity.
“The year 2025 has tried our strength as a people. Yet, time and again, Kenyans proved that our strength lies in our unity, our hard work, and our unbreakable hope for a better tomorrow,” he said.
Odinga praised the contribution of ordinary citizens in sustaining the country, highlighting farmers, traders, youth, workers, and professionals as key drivers of national progress.
According to the ODM leader, their courage and determination kept Kenya moving forward during a demanding year.
Looking ahead, Oginga said the Orange Democratic Movement enters 2026 guided by a clear vision of inclusive development.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to building “a Kenya that works for all,” outlining priorities that include access to quality education for every child, job creation through innovation and industry, fair returns for farmers, and leadership grounded in integrity and accountability.
“As the ODM party, we enter this New Year guided by a clear vision — a Kenya that works for all,” he said, adding that leadership must remain anchored on “integrity, accountability, and service to the people.”
The ODM leader also issued a strong call for national unity, urging Kenyans to reject divisive politics and prioritize dialogue over confrontation.
He emphasized that sustainable progress can only be achieved when citizens put the country’s interests ahead of personal or political gain.
“The year ahead calls upon us to reject division and embrace dialogue, to choose peace over conflict, and to put the interests of the nation above personal or political gain,” Oginga stated.
“Progress is possible when we walk together.”
As Kenyans usher in the New Year, Oginga expressed optimism that renewed dedication to unity and shared purpose would help the country overcome challenges and achieve lasting progress.
He wished citizens well, expressing hope that 2026 would bring prosperity and improved livelihoods for workers and families across the nation.
