In Summary

A 9-year-old girl was killed in a hit-and-run in Mugoya Estate, South C. Her family is demanding justice and questioning security agencies after the lorry driver allegedly fled the scene.

A hit-and-run incident was reported in Mugoya Estate in South C, leading to the demise of a 9-year-old, Aisha Faisal Mohammed. The incident occurred on December 16, 2025, and was reported to Lang’ata Police Station under OB 09/16/12/2025.

According to the family, the driver who was on duty collecting garbage in the estate under the lorry registration KAA 239U escaped the incident area. The family has faulted the security agencies.

Abdullahi Ali Sheqow, the uncle of the deceased, said to the press, "Our daughter was knocked down by a lorry with registration KAA239U just right at the gate of our house at about half-past three pm." The child died right away while the deceased's mother was shopping.

"We demand justice for the 9-year-old; in support of security, the perpetrator purposefully left the scene after the death." It’s very unfair, and this cannot be tolerated, as we are not in a banana republic. The security organs, children’s welfare, and those who ran the affairs of children and humanitarian organisations came out for the justice of Aisha Feisal.’’ Sheqow urged.

Aisha’s father struggled to articulate the depth of his love for his late daughter, appealing to security agencies to pursue justice by swiftly apprehending the suspect, who fled the scene after the incident.

‘’I call upon everybody who can help. I can’t believe that the criminal is free out there while Aisha is dead. Kindly step up and apprehend the criminal. The government of Kenya and the US embassy kindly step up and help on this.’’

Aisha’s mother was unable to address members of the press at Lang’ata Cemetery, overwhelmed by grief during the burial.

Abdi Rahman Ugas Khalif, a family friend, strongly criticised the security agencies, calling for urgent and decisive action to address the matter.

‘’I request the government; the problem we have seen is the government. The vehicle is unworthy to move around our roads. How did the estate security team – how did they allow the escape from the estate in the full force of the security? We urge the urgent arrest of the suspect and let the law be followed to bring justice.’’ Khalif urged.

On December 18, 2025, Aisha Feisal Mohammed's remains were buried at Lang'ata Cemetery.
