In Summary

From campaign stages to digital screens, the Deputy President’s lines captured attention, entertained the public, and dominated online conversations.

In 2025, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki became Kenya’s unlikely online star, with his fiery speeches and memorable quips sparking a wave of viral content.

His bold statements and theatrical delivery turned everyday political remarks into trending memes, TikTok videos, and social media buzz.

From campaign stages to digital screens, Kindiki’s lines captured attention, entertained the public, and dominated online conversations.

Ni noma si noma, fire si fire

Early in the year, Kindiki introduced the line: “Mimi ni noma si noma, mimi ni fire si fire.” Its dramatic delivery energised supporters, highlighted his determination, and unsettled his political rivals.

He also used the phrase while praising President William Ruto and campaigning for UDA candidate Leonard Wamuthende in Mbeere North. It quickly caught on, appearing in motivational videos, creative sketches, and shareable memes, establishing it as one of his signature expressions.

Nani akose base?

When critics, including former Attorney General Justin Muturi, poked fun at Kindiki’s soft-spoken voice, he responded with humour and confidence.

Muturi had mocked him using exaggerated soprano sounds while discussing housing fund allocations, prompting Kindiki’s memorable comeback: “Nani akose base? Mimi nakaa kama mtu anaweza kosa base mimi? Ukiniangalia vizuri, naweza kosa base mimi?”

The response went viral, becoming a favourite among meme creators and online users who admired his quick wit.

Wewe Goliathi

Kindiki also captured attention with his fiery declaration, “Wewe Goliathi! Wewe Goliathi!” delivered in Mbeere North amid rising tensions with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s camp.

While intended as a political warning, online audiences embraced it for humour and playful rivalry. It was widely used in TikTok skits, meme remixes, and social commentary.

During the moment, Kindiki said: “Wewe Goliathi! Wewe Goliathi! Wewe Goliathi! Umetisha watu siku mingi, umetesa watu siku mingi. Siku zako zimehesabika. Wewe Goliathi, mimi nakuambia hivi saa zako zimeisha. There is a new sheriff in town.”

Ntapita na wewe

Another phrase that dominated social media was “ntapita na wewe,” coined during Kindiki’s campaign in Mbeere North.

Drawing on his experience in ICC cases involving former prosecutor Moreno Ocampo, he used it to assert his political strength, warning rivals: “Enda ukiendanga, my friend. Auwezani na mimi, you are a small man. Nimepigana na Ocampo tukamwangusha. Niseme nisiseme… huyu mtu mwingine ni nani anakuja kuturingia hapa? Wewe, ntapita na wewe! Ntapita na wewe! Mimi, my friend, naitwa fire.”

The phrase quickly became a playful online warning, appearing in memes, skits, and humorous rivalries among friends and public figures alike.

Throughout 2025, Kindiki’s quotable lines—blending humour, intensity, and theatrical flair—became more than just political remarks.

They influenced social media culture, turning campaign speeches into entertainment and cementing his place as one of Kenya’s most recognisable figures in the digital space.
