In a statement on Friday, Secretary General Shakila Abdalla said the President’s claim over the Kibwezi-Mutumo-Kitui-Bondoni road project is false.

The Wiper Patriotic Front has strongly challenged President William Ruto’s assertions that Kalonzo Musyoka was responsible for development projects in Ukambani, accusing him of attempting to take credit for initiatives he did not launch.

In a statement on Friday, Secretary General Shakila Abdalla said the President’s claim over the Kibwezi-Mutumo-Kitui-Bondoni road project is false.

“Ruto now parades through lower Eastern, claiming credit for the Kibwezi-Mutumo-Kitui-Bondoni road. This is not just dishonest; it is outright theft,” the Wiper statement said.

According to Wiper, Kalonzo personally launched the project on March 29, 2011, with funding secured from the EXIM Bank of China.

The party highlighted that Kalonzo travelled to Beijing in 2012 to finalize the deal.

Wiper further claimed that the Jubilee government attempted to derail the project in 2013 by writing to the Chinese bank to cancel it, and later revived it in 2017 for electoral advantage.

The party also accused President Ruto of orchestrating digital attacks against Kalonzo.

“He has unleashed his digital militia and propaganda machine in a futile attempt to destroy what he cannot buy: Kalonzo’s integrity,” Abdalla stated.

Wiper alleged that Ruto has methodically captured almost all state institutions, leaving only the Judiciary as the final check against his influence.

The party added that the President disregards the Constitution he vowed to uphold and is working to dismantle the gains secured during Kenya’s First and Second Liberations.

The statement praised Kalonzo’s tenure, noting that he left office in 2013 without corruption scandals, unexplained wealth, or moral blemishes.

Wiper concluded by emphasizing that their leader will not join Ruto’s government and will challenge him in the 2027 General Elections.
