Kenya’s Consulate General in Dubai has announced integration of diaspora services on a unified eCitizen–DIIMS platform, centralising registration, emergency requests and crisis reporting for Kenyans living abroad.

Kenya’s Consulate General in Dubai has announced the launch of a unified digital platform for diaspora services, linking the eCitizen portal with the Diaspora Integrated Information Management System (DIIMS).

The initiative aims to centralise registration, emergency requests, and crisis reporting for Kenyans living abroad, offering a streamlined and accessible online service.

In a notice dated February 24, 2026, the Consulate stated: “This is to inform that the State Department for Diaspora Affairs has onboarded core services on the eCitizen Platform and integrated the same with the Diaspora Integrated Information Management System (DIIMS) portal.”

The services now available through the integrated platform include registration of Kenyans in the diaspora, registration of diaspora associations, requests by distressed persons, reporting of missing persons, reporting death, and crisis mapping. The notice highlighted that these features are designed not only for routine administrative processes but also to support emergency response and welfare coordination for nationals abroad.

“Kenyans are therefore invited to access the DIIMS via the link: https://platform.diaspora.go.ke/,” the notice read.

By combining the eCitizen portal with DIIMS, authorities are consolidating diaspora data and service delivery into a single, centralised system. The platform’s functions such as “Requests by distressed persons” and “Reporting of Missing persons” indicate that the government intends to provide faster support during emergencies and track critical incidents affecting Kenyans abroad.

The notice also mentions “reporting death” and “crisis mapping,” suggesting that the system will help authorities monitor and respond to emerging crises affecting the diaspora. While operational details remain limited, the announcement frames the platform as a comprehensive tool for engagement and support of Kenyans living outside the country.

The Consulate General in Dubai issued the communication formally, providing contact details and instructing that any replies should quote the relevant reference and date, reinforcing the official nature of the notice.

This rollout is part of broader efforts by the State Department for Diaspora Affairs to offer integrated digital services, ensuring that diaspora registration, communication, and emergency support are accessible through one portal.

The initiative comes as governments worldwide increasingly adopt digital platforms to connect with citizens abroad, providing centralised, reliable, and efficient channels for services and support. For Kenyans living overseas, this represents an official invitation to register and engage with the new system, enhancing both administrative efficiency and emergency response capabilities.
