President Ruto called on Kenyans to unite in prayer and solidarity during this period of mourning.

President William Ruto has promised government support to the families of all six people who died in the recent helicopter crash in Nandi County, including Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno.

Speaking at the late MP’s home in Karen, Nairobi, the President met with the widow and children of Ng’eno, extending condolences and reaffirming the state’s commitment to assisting the bereaved.

“We will extend support to all of the members who died alongside Ng’eno,” he said, reiterating that the government’s response would include both financial and social support for the victims’ families.

The President highlighted Ng’eno’s contributions to national development, particularly in the housing sector.

As Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Housing, Urban Planning, and Public Works, Ng’eno was instrumental in implementing the Affordable Housing Act and steering the government’s Affordable Housing Programme.

“You did your best. You contributed to the welfare of the community, the nation, and humanity,” President Ruto said, praising the late legislator’s dedication and service.

The tragedy has sparked national reflection, with leaders, colleagues, and citizens expressing grief over the sudden loss.

President Ruto called on Kenyans to unite in prayer and solidarity during this period of mourning.

“Let us come together as a nation to support the families and honor the memory of those who perished,” he said.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the helicopter crash, which claimed six lives.

The incident has drawn attention to aviation safety standards and emergency preparedness, prompting calls for enhanced oversight to prevent similar accidents in the future.

Ng’eno’s passing leaves a gap in both parliamentary leadership and community advocacy, with many remembering him as a principled legislator committed to tangible development projects.

As the nation grapples with this loss, President Ruto emphasised the need for collective empathy and unity, encouraging citizens to offer practical support and emotional solidarity to the affected families.

“Moments like these remind us of the fragility of life and the importance of standing together,” he said, reflecting the government’s focus on both compassion and actionable support.

The government’s pledge of assistance comes as part of a broader effort to ensure that the families of all victims receive timely aid, marking a significant step in Kenya’s ongoing commitment to support citizens in times of national tragedy.
