Police officers in Samburu North Sub-County, working alongside National Police Reservists and local communities, have recovered 24 goats stolen from Munanda Village.
The operation, conducted on Monday in Seren Village, Marsabit County, highlights the impact of coordinated security efforts in curbing livestock theft and strengthening public trust.
According to information shared by the NPS, the livestock, which had been stolen from Munanda Village, was traced and recovered in Seren Village, Marsabit County, following a swift response by police officers from Samburu North Sub-County.
The recovery effort was a result of collaboration between the National Police Reservists, National Government Administration Officers, and local communities who played a crucial role in providing intelligence and support.
The recovery marks yet another victory in the ongoing campaign against livestock theft and banditry, a persistent challenge affecting pastoralist communities in Marsabit, Samburu, and other northern regions.
The National Police Reservists (NPRs), who are often drawn from local communities, worked closely with police officers and local administrators to locate the stolen animals.
"The animals have since been positively identified and returned to their rightful owner," said the National Police Service.
