In a notice to students registered for professional courses including CPA, CS, CIFA, CCP and CQP on Monday, KASNEB said the review is part of a continuous improvement initiative aimed at strengthening the assessment process.

The KASNEB has revised the structure of examination question papers for its Professional Qualifications, with the changes set to take effect from the April 2026 examinations.

In a notice to students registered for professional courses including CPA, CS, CIFA, CCP and CQP on Monday, KASNEB said the review is part of a continuous improvement initiative aimed at strengthening the assessment process.

Under the new structure, “all examination question papers at the Professional Levels will consist of five (5) compulsory questions. Candidates will be required to answer all five (5) questions.”

The board clarified that the “marks allocated to each question will be clearly indicated at the end of each question,” while the duration of each examination session will remain three (3) hours.” There will be “no optional questions under the revised structure.”

KASNEB stated that the revision is intended “to enhance fairness, consistency and comparability of examination papers” and to align the examination structure “with best practice in professional assessment.”

Students have been advised to familiarise themselves with the updated format ahead of the April 2026 sitting and subsequent examinations.

The board also urged candidates to practise time management to ensure they effectively attempt all five compulsory questions within the three-hour duration.

To support the transition, KASNEB has made sample examination pilot papers for affected subjects available on its e-library platform.

However, the board clarified that the structure for Certificate, Diploma and Post-Professional qualifications remains unchanged.

KASNEB reaffirmed its commitment to quality and high standards in the administration of professional examinations.

“KASNEB remains committed to maintaining high standards in administration of professional examinations and continuous quality improvement of the assessment process,” the notice stated.

The announcement was signed by Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Prof. Nicholas K. Letting’, who emphasized the board’s ongoing efforts to strengthen professional training and assessment in line with evolving industry standards.
