Osotsi said the agenda represented Raila’s vision for a people-centred Kenya, and that fulfilling it would ensure the late opposition leader’s work for democracy and justice lives on.

ODM Deputy Party Leader Godfrey Osotsi on Monday called on President William Ruto to implement the 10-point agenda he signed with the late Raila Odinga, saying it would be the best way to honour the former Prime Minister’s legacy. Osotsi emphasised unity within ODM and patience during the mourning period.

Speaking during a TV interview on Citizen, Osotsi said the agenda represented Raila’s vision for a people-centred Kenya, and that fulfilling it would ensure the late opposition leader’s work for democracy and justice lives on.

“Baba would be even happier in heaven if the government of Kenya implemented the 10-point agenda he signed with President Ruto,” Osotsi said, adding that Raila “always asked where the people were in every policy or action.”

The 10-point agenda, which emerged from the bipartisan talks between the Kenya Kwanza administration and the Azimio coalition, included key reforms such as promoting inclusivity, strengthening devolution, fighting corruption, addressing national debt, upholding the rule of law, and compensating victims of political demonstrations.

According to Osotsi, these issues were close to Raila’s heart and formed part of his last national priorities before his sudden death earlier this month.

He disclosed that during their last meetings, Raila had emphasised the importance of implementing these reforms as part of his enduring legacy.

“The 10-point agenda is the glue that binds the broad-based arrangement between Kenya Kwanza and Azimio. It is the final chapter of Raila’s vision for a fair and united Kenya,” Osotsi stated.

Osotsi also addressed growing speculation over ODM’s leadership and direction following Raila’s passing, urging patience and calm within the party.

He said ODM remains “a formidable institution with strong structures” and will regroup after the mourning period to determine its next course of action.

“We are still mourning. In African culture, mourning takes 40 days, and it’s only fair we be allowed to grieve before making any major political decisions,” he explained.

He dismissed claims that ODM was on the brink of collapse, insisting that the party would remain united and faithful to Raila’s ideals of justice, inclusivity, and democracy.

“Raila believed in unity, gather all, scatter none. That is the spirit we must carry forward,” he said, revealing that Raila had expressed similar sentiments in their last private conversation at Serena Hotel just days before his death.

Osotsi thanked President Ruto for granting Raila a state funeral, saying it was a mark of respect for a man who devoted his life to Kenya’s democratic transformation.

However, he challenged the government to go beyond symbolism and translate that respect into tangible policy actions.

“We appreciate the state funeral, but true honour for Raila lies in fulfilling his dream for Kenyans, implementing the 10-point agenda,” Osotsi said.
