Authorities in Nairobi have arrested a woman suspected of providing support to a terrorist organization in Eastleigh. The suspect, identified as Asho Kassim Hassan, was apprehended during a targeted operation by detectives from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU).

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday confirmed that the arrest came after intelligence pointed investigators to her hideout along Major Muriithi Street in Eastleigh.

During the raid, officers recovered a passport and a mobile phone, which have been taken for forensic analysis to help uncover the broader network the suspect may be connected to.

The DCI said the suspect is now in custody and undergoing processing ahead of her arraignment. The agency emphasized its commitment to protecting the public and ensuring safety across the country.

“Through intensified intelligence operations, enhanced inter-agency coordination, and sustained community partnerships, the DCI remains steadfast in safeguarding the country and ensuring that every Kenyan can go about their daily lives without fear,” the statement read.

Authorities said the operation reflects ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and maintain public security.

The DCI has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies.
