Established in 1956, the college functions as a Technical and Vocational Education and Training institution and was created under Section 17 of the Forest Conservation and Management Act, 2016.

Kenya Forestry College has opened applications for its 2026/2027 training programmes, inviting students interested in forestry and environmental conservation to apply for admission at its Londiani campus in Kericho County.

The institution, which operates under the Kenya Forest Service, said the programmes are designed to equip trainees with practical skills needed to support sustainable management of natural resources. Training is scheduled to begin at the Londiani campus once the admission process is complete.

In a public notice, the college stated that it aims to equip trainees with “high quality technical skills in forestry and the environmental conservation,” as part of its mandate to strengthen conservation efforts across the country.

Established in 1956, the college functions as a Technical and Vocational Education and Training institution and was created under Section 17 of the Forest Conservation and Management Act, 2016.

It describes itself as “the premier college offering courses to equip trainees with high quality technical skills in forestry and the environmental conservation,” and also runs short specialised courses for professionals in the conservation sector.

Among the short courses offered are programmes such as law enforcement training for county governments and community scouts, targeting individuals involved in environmental protection and natural resource management at the local level.

Interested applicants have been directed to obtain detailed information on available courses and application procedures through the official channels of both the Kenya Forest Service and the college. The notice added that “application forms are also available on the two websites,” where candidates are expected to download, complete, and submit them.

Applicants are required to submit completed forms together with copies of academic certificates, a National Identity Card or Birth Certificate, and proof of payment of the application fee. Submissions can be delivered physically to the Londiani campus or sent electronically through designated email addresses.

“The same can also be scanned and sent to their email addresses,” the notice stated, confirming that both physical and digital submissions will be accepted.

The application fee has been set at Sh1,000 and is non-refundable. Payments must be made through the government’s e-Citizen platform, with applicants required to attach proof of payment, either an e-Citizen receipt or a banking slip, when submitting their documents.

The institution also noted that applicants may apply through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service. Those selected through the central placement system will be required to confirm their admission through the Kenya Forest Service platform and contact the college principal to obtain admission letters.

Applicants have been advised to include valid telephone numbers and email addresses in their forms to ensure smooth communication during the admission process.

All applications must be received by April 30, 2026. The college emphasized that only submissions received on or before the deadline will be considered for the upcoming intake. Specific commencement dates for the programmes will be communicated through official notices.

Training will take place at the Londiani campus in Kericho County, which serves as the main centre for the institution’s academic programmes.

The announcement comes as the country continues to prioritise environmental conservation under long-term development plans, including Kenya Vision 2030. By expanding access to forestry training, the institution aims to build a skilled workforce capable of addressing challenges such as deforestation, climate change, and biodiversity loss, while promoting sustainable use of natural resources.
