The Kibra operation forms part of a broader campaign by the NPS to dismantle criminal networks supplying illicit substances.

Four suspects have been arrested in Makina, Kibra Sub-County, during a police operation targeting illicit alcohol and narcotics.

Officers recovered three bales of suspected cannabis sativa and a motor vehicle used to transport the drugs.

Police confirmed on Monday that the suspects have been placed in custody pending processing and arraignment in court, emphasizing that legal procedures will follow in line with the law.

The NPS reiterated its commitment to combating the trafficking and distribution of illicit drugs, which continue to pose serious threats to public safety and community well-being.

Officers noted that operations like this are critical for maintaining safe communities in Nairobi.

Authorities stressed that fighting narcotics and illegal brews requires active public cooperation.

The National Police Service (NPS) urged the public to share information on drug-related activities through their toll-free numbers.

“Members of the public are urged to continue cooperating with the police by providing information on drug-related activities via the toll-free numbers 999, 911, or 112, or anonymously through #FichuaKwaDCI on 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp 0709 570 000,” the statement said.

The Kibra operation forms part of a broader campaign by the NPS to dismantle criminal networks supplying illicit substances.

Such networks, if unchecked, pose significant risks to health, safety, and social stability in densely populated neighborhoods.

Police emphasized that arrests will be followed by swift legal action, ensuring the rule of law is enforced.

“Our operations aim to dismantle criminal supply chains and reinforce law enforcement in the community,” police said, underlining that tackling narcotics is both a security and public health priority.

The Makina raid also highlighted the link between illegal alcohol distribution and drug trafficking, both of which threaten residents’ safety and well-being.

This operation is part of a nationwide effort by the NPS, in collaboration with agencies such as NACADA, to dismantle criminal supply chains.

Police urged Kibra residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity promptly, reinforcing the partnership between law enforcement and citizens.

Public collaboration, they noted, is key to identifying criminal networks and ensuring safer neighborhoods.

This operation reflects the NPS’s resolve to curb illicit substances across Nairobi, particularly in high-risk areas like Kibra.

By combining intelligence-driven operations, arrests, and public participation, authorities aim to significantly reduce the availability of drugs and illegal brews.

The police reiterated their commitment to a drug-free and secure Kibra, calling on the public to remain vigilant and continue providing timely information.
