Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday called on the public for urgent assistance in locating a man wanted for the rape and murder of a 28-year-old woman in Kirinyaga County.
Authorities described the suspect as armed and dangerous, warning residents not to approach him and urging anyone with information to report immediately through secure police channels.
Investigators said the suspect is believed to have carried out the crime on March 12, 2026, and hails from Ngushui Village in Murinduko Location, Mwea Constituency. The DCI confirmed that multiple leads are being pursued in a bid to apprehend him and stressed that public cooperation is crucial in bringing him to justice.
In an official statement, the agency said, “The Directorate of Criminal Investigations urgently seeks the assistance of the public in apprehending a suspect wanted in connection with the capital offences of rape and murder.”
