Suspected drug trafficker arrested in Msambweni operation

Anti-Narcotics Unit detectives in Magaoni area of Msambweni, Kwale County, have arrested a suspected drug trafficker and recovered narcotics from him.

According to Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Shee Hussein was arrested following a tip-off as he was traveling on a public service vehicle.

Upon conducting a swift search, they uncovered 200 grams of heroin discreetly concealed in his left trouser pocket.

Hussein led the officers to his residence, where a search of the premises resulted in the recovery of 19 additional parcels containing cannabis.

He is currently being held at the Kilindini Port Police Station, awaiting court proceedings.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation, Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) officers based at DCI Headquarters carried out a raid in Kabati, Murang'a County, where they arrested another suspected trafficker, Henry Mburu Njogu.

Njogu was intercepted while driving, and later, a search at his home revealed a stash of 21 sacks filled with cannabis.

Mburu was promptly arrested and taken to Muthaiga Police Station, where he now awaits judicial action over the drug haul.

Elsewhere, in a multi-agency crackdown conducted in Usenge, law enforcement officers arrested Francis Odhiambo Ochieng, commonly known as Odhis.

The operation led to the confiscation of 4,600 rolls of bhang. Odhis is currently in police custody awaiting arraignment.
