Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) women's volleyball club stormed into the round of 16 after thrashing Democratic Republic of Congo’s VC La Loi (VCL) in straight sets (25-12, 25-12, 25-17) on Wednesday during the ongoing 2026 CAVB Women’s African Club Championship at the Al Ahly Sports Club in Gezira, Cairo, Egypt, their third consecutive win of the tourney.
Earlier on Tuesday, day 2 of the championship, the Geoffrey Omondi-coached side beat Burundi’s Gender Light Club (GLC) in a one-sided Pool B match, securing straight-sets victory, winning 3–0 (25–8, 25–7, 25–9), a continuity of their tournament opener on Monday when they also won 3-0 against Kalibi Sports Club (KSC) of Ghana (25-19, 25-21 & 25-13) in their Pool B opener.
In other matches, Kenya's representatives, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) beat Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Uganda (25-20,25-20,25-16) while KCB got their 2026 African Club Championship campaign off to a commanding start with a straight-sets victory over Nigeria’s Vipers and Partners.
The Bankers secured a 3-0 win (25-19, 25-19, 25-19) in their opening Group D fixture.
The 2026 CAVB Women's African Volleyball Club Championship is being held in Cairo, Egypt, from April 11–24, 2026, featuring top African clubs, including Kenya's DCI, KPC, and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), competing in a round-robin format.
