The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) announced national team technical appointments on Saturday in Nairobi.

In a statement released on Sunday, KVF said the appointments cover the Men’s National Team (Wafalme), Women’s National Team (Malkia Strikers), and the Beach Volleyball National Teams, ahead of upcoming 2026 regional and international competitions.

“The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has announced a series of technical appointments for the national teams following the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on 7 March 2026,” the statement read, adding that the appointees’ main responsibility is to scout and select players for their respective teams for specific assignments.

The men’s national team, preparing for the Africa Zone 5 Qualifiers in Uganda, will be led by General Service Unit (GSU) coach Gideon Tarus. He will be assisted by Elisha Aliwa from KDF and Dennis Mokua from Prisons as second assistant coaches.

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA)’s James Ontere will serve as team trainer, while Chema’s Jeremiah Mukopi has been appointed as team statistician.

Geoffrey Omondi from Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) will be the new head coach for Malkia Strikers, preparing for the Nairobi Cup. He will be assisted by David Muthui from KCB and Patrick Sang from DCI.

For Beach Volleyball, targeting the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics, Patrick Owino from Equity Bank will lead the men’s team, assisted by former player Gaudencia Makhokha from KPC.

Sila Makisu from KDF will serve as head coach of the national women’s beach volleyball team, assisted by KPA’s Sammy Mulinge.
