Kalonzo, in his remarks, described the endorsement as both symbolic and substantive, saying it reflected trust, confidence and a collective decision by the community to speak with one clear and united voice.
Party leaders, led by Secretary General Richard Ole Kenta, spoke during the official opening of the party’s new county offices in Kisii County on Friday.
According to the coalition, investigations into the church attack had been concluded and the perpetrators identified.
The announcement was made by PNU Secretary General Frank Walukwe, who spoke alongside Jubilee officials, including Matiang’i, Jeremiah Kioni, and PNU leader Peter Munya.
Speaking at ACK St Mark Church in Gitugi, Murang’a County, Gachagua argued that unity among voters in the vote-rich region would decisively shape the outcome of the next presidential contest.
Matiang’i rejected arguments that the current problems would not exist if another education system had been retained. He maintained that any curriculum inherited by the current leadership would have suffered the same fate.
The opposition claims the visit has been prompted by repeated incidents of violence and rights violations allegedly directed at its leaders and supporters, which it says have not been adequately addressed by police despite being reported at various stations.
The meeting comes amid renewed debate over the readiness of the IEBC following recent appointments to the commission and ongoing preparations for the next general election cycle.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Generation, Kioni said his main mission as Secretary General was to revive the party, resolve internal disputes, and ensure it remained active and ready for the future.
Party officials said the changes are part of a broader effort to streamline leadership, draw from seasoned political hands, and close a chapter marked by protracted internal wrangles and legal battles.
