TIFA: 56% of Kenyan crime victims did not report cases to police – TIFA

The survey released on September 9,2026 shows that among crime victims who chose not to report, 32% cited a “lack of confidence in Police: Inefficient” as the main reason for their decision. A further 19% said the crime was not serious enough to report, while 18% said they had reported the incident to another body or actor, including local elders, religious leaders and assistant chiefs.

Kenya has recorded a sharp drop in new HIV infections over the past decade, with figures from the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council showing an 82% decline between 2015 and 2025. New infections fell from 77,647 in 2015 to 13,936 in 2025. Despite the progress, Rachel said young people continued to carry a large share of the HIV burden.

Conversely, 13% of BBG supporters blamed protesters or demonstrators, compared with 6% of opponents
