To back his claims, Ruto compared the performance of SHA with that of NHIF, saying the new authority is releasing far more money to health facilities than its predecessor. According to the President, NHIF used to disburse about Sh5.6 billion every three months, while SHA is now paying approximately Sh12 billion every month.
Healthcare facilities seeking clarification have been instructed to submit written requests through the email address [email protected] by July 31.
In a public notice issued on July 21, SHA said the Primary Healthcare benefit package covers the complete episode of care, including consultation, diagnosis, clinically indicated investigations, treatment and prescribed medicines in line with the Ministry of Health treatment guidelines.
