KMTC opens September 2026 intake applications

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has opened applications for its September 2026 intake, inviting prospective students to apply for pre-service, in-service and upgrading programmes.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, the college said applications for pre-service courses are being processed through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) Student Portal, with the application deadline set for August 11, 2026.

Applications for in-service and upgrading programmes are being submitted through the KMTC Admissions Portal.

The college urged eligible applicants to submit their applications before the deadline for the September intake.

"September 2026 intake applications are now open. Pre-service programmes are now open for application through the KUCCPS Student Portal."

The institution encouraged interested candidates to apply early to avoid last-minute challenges associated with online submissions.

The announcement opens another admission cycle for students seeking to pursue medical and health-related training at one of the country's largest public health training institutions.

For applicants already in employment or those seeking to upgrade their professional qualifications, KMTC said applications for in-service and upgrading programmes are being handled separately through the institution's admissions portal.

"In-service/Upgrading programmes are open through the KMTC Admissions Portal."

The college urged prospective learners to use the appropriate application platforms depending on the programme they intend to pursue.

Under the current admission process, pre-service applicants are required to submit their applications through the KUCCPS Student Portal, while practising health professionals seeking further training or career progression are expected to apply directly through the KMTC online admissions system.

The latest intake is expected to attract thousands of applicants from across the country as demand for training opportunities in the health sector continues to grow.

KMTC offers a wide range of certificate, diploma and higher diploma programmes across various medical disciplines through its campuses nationwide, producing health professionals who serve in both public and private healthcare institutions.

The institution encouraged prospective students to familiarise themselves with the admission requirements for their preferred programmes and ensure all application details are submitted correctly before the deadline.

The September 2026 admission exercise comes as institutions of higher learning continue processing applications for the new academic cycle, with students seeking placement into programmes aligned with the country's growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals.
