The changes, published in a gazette notice on Friday, December 19, moved recipients to the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (M.B.S.), the Order of the Grand Warrior (O.G.W.), and the Head of State’s Commendation (H.S.C.) categories.

Ndung'u Joyce Njeri Njoroge and Kiini Sylvester Ngei have been shifted from the C.B.S. to the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (M.B.S.). Other awardees, including Owino Harrison Ochieng, Kirui Kipkemoi Arap, Chemweno Peter Kipsang, Mogere Zakayo Izanta, Sitima Allan Mukoto, and Akama Vane Nyaboke, were reassigned to the Order of the Grand Warrior (O.G.W.).

The revisions follow the Jamhuri Day celebrations at State House on December 12, where a total of 881 Kenyans were honored for their service and contributions to society.

The ceremony also recognized high-profile individuals with the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (E.G.H.), including Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, Kristina Pratt Kenyatta, sister of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, and Kajiado Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu. Cabinet Secretaries William Kabogo, Debora Barasa, and Lee Kinyanjui were also awarded the E.G.H.

In addition, military officers were acknowledged, with Kenya Army Lieutenant General Keter Kipkemboi and Kenya Air Force Commander Major General Waliaula Bernard receiving the Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (M.G.H.).

Public figures honored with the Head of State’s Commendation (H.S.C.) included musician Ian Oure, popularly known as Iyanii, and Truphena Muthoni, the holder of the 72-hour tree-hugging world record.
