Safaricom Foundation has committed 100 million shillings to community projects across Kenya as it launches the eighth phase of its Ndoto Zetu initiative.
The programme supports community-led projects in health, education and economic empowerment across all 47 counties, bringing the Foundation’s total investment in the initiative to 700 million shillings since 2019.
This year, previous applicants whose proposals were not funded will get another chance to have their projects reconsidered.
“With Ndoto Zetu, we are inspired by everyday Kenyans who dare to dream not just for themselves, but for their communities. As we move into the eighth phase, we are giving Kenyans who have long wanted to create positive change in their communities another opportunity to make their dreams a reality," said Joseph Ogutu, Chairman, Safaricom Foundation.
This year, we will consider impactful proposals from previous applicants that have not yet received funding from the Foundation."
Since its launch in 2019, the Ndoto Zetu initiative has supported more than 2,300 projects, directly improving the lives of over 7.1 million people across all 47 counties.
In Phase 7 alone, 301 projects were approved, benefiting more than 1.9 million Kenyans.
