Kenya international Abud Omar has bid farewell to Kenya Police FC after completing his return to 13-time FKF Premier League champions Tusker FC.
The experienced defender completed his move to the Brewers on Monday after successfully passing his medical and signing a deal with the Ruaraka-based club. On Tuesday, he penned an emotional farewell message to Kenya Police, thanking the club for its support during his three-year stay.
"I want to thank everyone at Kenya Police FC for the three memorable years we shared. It has been a privilege to represent this club and create great memories with my teammates, coaches, management, and the fans," he wrote.
"As I begin a new chapter, I leave with nothing but appreciation for everyone who believed in me and supported me throughout my time here. This is not goodbye, but see you again. I believe our paths will cross in the future," he added.
Omar's leadership, experience, and consistency at both left-back and centre-back played a key role in Kenya Police's success, helping the club win its maiden major trophy, the 2023/24 Mozzart Bet Cup, before making history by securing its first-ever FKF Premier League title in the 2024/25 season.
His outstanding performances during the just-concluded campaign also earned him the club's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, underlining his influence on and off the pitch.
The 33-year-old returns to Tusker, where he established himself as one of Kenya's top full-backs after joining from Bandari FC in 2013.
During his first spell with the Brewers, Omar won two FKF Top 8 titles and earned his first call-up to the Harambee Stars.
His return is expected to strengthen Tusker's defence as the club intensifies preparations for the new season, with the 13-time league champions aiming to end a five-year wait for the FKF Premier League title.
