A new TIFA Research poll released May 14, 2026 finds Kalonzo Musyoka–Edwin Sifuna as the top preferred opposition presidential pairing overall, while Kalonzo–Fred Matiang’i edges among opposition supporters, with many undecided.
TIFA said the findings suggest that “Kindiki is viewed as the most politically acceptable deputy option,” adding that voters appeared to favour “continuity and stability within Ruto’s political camp heading into 2027.”
Ruto is followed by Kalonzo Musyoka who records 19 per cent. Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i comes third with 14 per cent, while Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna follows at 10 per cent. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is placed fifth at 9 per cent. Embakasi East MP Babu Owino records 2 per cent support.
Under Linda Mwananchi, which leads with 73% support, followers appear to favour a stronger opposition approach focused on public interest and consistent pressure on government performance.
A TIFA survey released May 14, 2026 finds support for Kenya’s Broad-Based Government fell to 30% in May, down from 44% in November 2025. Opposition rose to 56%, while undecided responses increased.
