KAA warns of flight delays at Kenyan airports, advises passengers to check status

Kenya Airports Authority PLC has warned passengers that some departing flights at Kenyan airports are currently experiencing delays, urging travellers to check with their airlines before heading to the airport.

In a passenger advisory issued on Sunday, the authority said it was working with aviation agencies, airlines and other stakeholders to manage the situation and minimise disruption to airport operations.

“Kenya Airports Authority PLC wishes to advise passengers and other airport users that some departing flights are currently experiencing delays at our airports,” the authority said.

The delays could affect passengers travelling through Kenya’s airports as airlines and airport operators work to address the situation.

KAA did not provide details on the number of affected flights, the airports experiencing the delays or the cause of the disruption in its advisory.

It said it was coordinating with the relevant aviation agencies, airlines and other stakeholders to “facilitate the smooth flow of airport operations”.

Passengers have been advised to contact their respective airlines directly for the latest information about their flights.

“Passengers are advised to contact their respective Airlines for the latest information on their flight status and to plan their journeys accordingly,” KAA said.

The authority urged travellers to make the necessary arrangements based on information provided by their airlines as efforts continue to minimise the disruption.

The advisory comes as airports remain key entry and exit points for thousands of passengers travelling within Kenya and to international destinations.

KAA apologised to passengers and other airport users who may be affected by the delays, saying it appreciated their patience and understanding as the situation was addressed.

“KAA regrets the inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and understanding of passengers and other airport users as the situation is addressed,” it said.

The authority said it would continue monitoring the situation and provide additional information if there are further developments.

“Further updates will be provided as the situation develops,” KAA said.
