Motor vehicle owners with physical logbooks still held at National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) offices have four months to collect the documents, with the authority warning motorists against waiting until the last minute.
In a public notice issued on Monday, August 10, 2026, NTSA urged all affected vehicle owners to visit its offices and designated service centres early to collect their logbooks and avoid possible inconvenience as the deadline approaches.
The latest reminder comes two months after the authority issued an earlier notice on Thursday, June 11, 2026, asking owners to collect unclaimed physical logbooks in its custody.
“4 months to the deadline. In reference to the Public Notice issued by the Authority on Thursday, June 11, 2026. It is 4 months to the deadline, and we urge all motor vehicle owners who still have their logbooks at NTSA offices to collect them as soon as possible to avoid any inconveniences,” NTSA said.
The authority clarified that motorists will not be charged for collecting the documents. Vehicle owners are required to carry their previous logbook together with a valid identification document for verification.
“Collection of logbooks is free. Carry the previous logbook and present your identification document at the collection centre/NTSA office for verification purposes,” the notice stated.
NTSA said motorists can collect the documents from any of its offices and Huduma Centres, giving vehicle owners different locations where they can access the service.
The authority has also opened several communication channels for motorists who need clarification or assistance with the collection process.
Vehicle owners can seek support through NTSA's contact centre and switchboard, listed as 0709 932 300 and 0709 932 000 respectively. Members of the public can also use the authority's official correspondence channels, social media platforms and online complaint system to raise queries or seek assistance.
NTSA has further provided an online service-status platform where motorists can establish whether their driving licence system (DLS) logbooks and number plates are still awaiting collection.
“Uncollected DLS. Logbooks and Numberplates,” NTSA said while directing motorists to the platform to check the status of their documents.
The authority urged motorists whose documents remain uncollected to make arrangements early rather than wait until the final weeks of the exercise.
NTSA said the collection drive is aimed at ensuring vehicle owners receive and take custody of their official documentation while also reducing the number of unclaimed logbooks and number plates remaining at its service points.
Motorists collecting the documents have been reminded to carry the required identification and previous logbook to allow NTSA officials to verify their details before releasing the documents.
With four months left before the deadline, NTSA has called on all affected vehicle owners to take advantage of the free collection service and pick up their logbooks in good time.
