The Speaker said women have the numbers to influence elections but need to turn their political participation into direct competition for leadership positions at the county and national levels.
The President in a pre-recorded interview said their last face-to-face meeting happened after Raila returned to Nairobi from Malindi, where he had gone after doctors advised him to seek a warmer climate.
A memo issued by National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohammed on August 4 confirmed the meeting and called on all members of the Parliamentary Group to attend.
He added that the party is gearing up to field candidates in all upcoming by-elections, including those in Malava, Ugunja, and Banissa.
