The launch comes as the country continues to record thousands of new cases every year. Ministry of Health data shows that about 14,000 babies are born with sickle cell disease annually, while an estimated 250,000 Kenyans are living with the condition.
The suspect was arrested in an intelligence-led operation at Jacaranda Hotel in Nairobi's Westlands area by detectives from the DCI Headquarters Land Fraud Investigations Unit (LFIU). The arrest followed investigations into the alleged fraudulent acquisition of the prime parcel of land located along Mua Park Road in Muthaiga.
