The Advisory Committee on Military Veterans serves as a government advisory organ on issues affecting former military personnel, including policies, programmes and measures aimed at improving their welfare.
The committee, established through the Military Veterans Act, focuses on promoting the interests of veterans, advising on benefits and entitlements, and supporting initiatives designed to improve the lives of retired members of the military.
The incoming chairperson will be expected to provide direction to the committee and help guide discussions on matters affecting veterans across the country.
The recruitment comes as the government continues rolling out efforts aimed at improving support for military veterans through better access to healthcare, pensions and other welfare programmes.
