Job seekers have until September 1, 2026, to apply for 17 positions advertised by the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) as the institution seeks to strengthen its teams in legal services, customer experience, digital and creative services, internal audit and transport operations.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, HELB said the vacancies range from senior positions to entry-level roles, with the largest share going to Assistant Customer Experience Officers, for which 11 positions have been set aside.
The board is also recruiting a Principal Legal Officer, Principal Customer Experience Officer in Digital and Creative Services, Senior Customer Experience Officer in Digital and Creative Services, Internal Audit Officer I and two Driver II officers.
The Principal Legal Officer, Grade 5, advertised under reference HELB/016, will be responsible for overseeing the development, review and monitoring of statutory and legal policies and procedures.
The role will cover areas including litigation, prosecution and alternative dispute resolution.
HELB has also advertised the position of Principal Customer Experience Officer, Digital and Creative Services, Grade 5, under reference HELB/017.
The successful candidate will oversee the development of artistic concepts, business branding materials, events, as well as editorial and other creative products produced by the institution.
Under reference HELB/018, the board is seeking a Senior Customer Experience Officer, Digital and Creative Services, Grade 6.
The officer will be expected to develop artistic concepts, supervise creative teams and coordinate HELB's creative and design needs.
Another vacancy is that of Internal Audit Officer I, Grade 7, listed under reference HELB/019.
The successful applicant will supervise reviews of the board's information technology systems and infrastructure, carry out forensic audits and provide management with assurance on the strength of internal controls.
The officer will also help ensure HELB systems are effective in preventing fraud and losses, protecting assets and supporting the achievement of the board's strategic objectives.
Two Driver II positions, Grade 11, have also been advertised under reference HELB/020.
Those recruited will drive official HELB vehicles, support the board's day-to-day operations and ensure the vehicles assigned to them remain in good working condition.
The largest recruitment category is Assistant Customer Experience Officer, Grade 9, with 11 vacancies listed under reference HELB/021.
The officers will serve walk-in customers at Huduma Centres and handle inquiries received through email and telephone calls from different parts of the country.
Their duties will also include supporting customer service through contact centre channels, including inbound and outsourced calls, emails and social media platforms.
The officers will further serve customers in the diaspora through chats and the HELB website.
The board said it is looking for transformative, competent and self-driven people with strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
“The successful candidates to fill the positions will join a highly performing team and should not only be passionate, innovative, and qualified but also be dependable, emotional intelligent and have effective interpersonal, communication and leadership skills,” the board said.
HELB said successful applicants will be engaged on contracts of up to three years, with renewal subject to performance and the applicable retirement age.
