Kenyan motorsport official Tuta Mionki is set to reach another career milestone after earning an appointment as an FIA Steward for this weekend's Delfi Rally Estonia, becoming the first Kenyan woman to officiate at the highest level of the FIA World Rally Championship.

The appointment places Mionki on the three-member stewards panel for Rally Estonia, the ninth round of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship, which will be held in Tartu from July 16 to 19. She will serve alongside Stewards' Chairperson Mathieu Remmerie of Belgium and ASN Steward Oliver Ojaveer of Estonia.

Her selection marks another landmark moment in a career that has continued to open doors for Kenyan officials on the global motorsport stage.

Mionki has steadily built an impressive international profile through a series of FIA appointments. A graduate of the FIA High-Performance Programme (HPP), she has served as an observer steward at top-level events, including Formula One races such as the Qatar Grand Prix, as well as rounds of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship.

She also became the first Kenyan woman to serve as Chairperson of the Stewards at an international event, taking up the role during the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally.

Her latest appointment comes after another historic moment during the WRC Safari Rally Kenya in 2025, where she was part of the championship's first all-female panel of stewards at round three of the season. During the event, Mionki served as the ASN (Federation) Steward.

Rally Estonia is widely regarded as one of the fastest gravel events on the World Rally Championship calendar and attracts the world's leading drivers, manufacturers and officials. With the event demanding strict oversight, the stewards play a key role in ensuring the rally is conducted fairly and in line with FIA regulations.

For Mionki, the Estonia assignment adds another major chapter to a growing list of international achievements while marking a first for Kenya, with no Kenyan woman having previously served as an FIA Steward at a World Rally Championship event.
