Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has moved to dismiss claims circulating on social media suggesting that its radiotherapy machines have been out of service for months.

The hospital assured Kenyans that cancer treatment at its Oncology Centre is running normally, with patients continuing to receive care as scheduled.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, KNH sought to calm growing concerns among cancer patients and their families.

“Kenyatta National Hospital wishes to reassure the public that radiotherapy services at our Oncology Center are fully operational,” the hospital said.

Management described the online reports as misleading, insisting that treatment has not been disrupted at any point.

“Reports circulating on social media claiming that the radiotherapy machine has been out of service for months are incorrect,” the statement added.

KNH emphasized that all scheduled radiotherapy sessions are ongoing and that patients continue to be seen without interruption.

“The Hospital continues to provide uninterrupted cancer treatment, and patients are being attended to as scheduled,” the statement read in part.

The hospital also highlighted its broader commitment to providing accessible and quality oncology care to the thousands of Kenyans who depend on public facilities for treatment.

“We remain committed to ensuring access to quality oncology care for all patients, especially those who rely on public health facilities,” KNH noted.

At the same time, the hospital encouraged any patient who may be experiencing delays or who needs further assistance to reach out directly to the oncology department for help.

“Any patient experiencing delays/requiring additional support is encouraged to contact the Oncology Department for timely assistance,” the hospital advised.

Reaffirming its role as the country’s premier referral facility, Kenyatta National Hospital reaffirmed its dedication to safe and compassionate care to all Kenyans.

“KNH remains dedicated to delivering safe, reliable & compassionate care to all Kenyans,” the statement said.
