KVF Vice President Bitok confirms Kenya Cup knockout stage this weekend

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Vice President Paul Bitok has confirmed that the second edition of the Kenya Cup knockout stage will take place on July 10–11, 2026, at the Nyayo National Stadium Basketball Court in Nairobi.

Speaking to Radio Generation on Wednesday during a training session at the venue, Bitok underscored the significance of the Kenya Cup, now in its second year, saying the competition has become an important addition to the national volleyball calendar alongside the league.

"The more we compete, the better we become. Look at the level and intensity of our players now compared to previous years before we introduced the Kenya Cup," said Bitok.

Bitok added that the tournament also provides players with an opportunity to showcase their talent, earn transfers, and attract interest from other clubs.

"The championship offers players a chance to move between clubs, try out for different teams, while clubs also get an opportunity to scout and recruit young talent. It is a platform where players can be discovered," he said.

Bitok also serves as the Technical Director of Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Women's Volleyball Club.

Meanwhile, the Federation's National Sports Organising Secretary, John Oronje, on Wednesday released the fixtures for the knockout stage, congratulating all the teams that qualified and wishing them success as they battle for places in the next round.
