The 2025 edition of the Impala Floodlit Tournament is set to kick off with the quarterfinals stage on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Impala Club and RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, following confirmation of the new schedule.
Originally set to begin last weekend, October 18, the tournament was pushed back following the death of former Prime Minister of Kenya Raila Amolo Odinga, who was laid to rest on Sunday, October 19. He died Wednesday October 15, forcing many sporting bodies in the country including the Kenya Rugby Union KRU, to postpone any ongoing sporting activity in the country.
The tournament will now run over three consecutive weekends, with the quarterfinals set for Saturday, October 25, 2025, followed by the semifinals on Saturday, November 1, 2025, and the finals concluding the event on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Kenya Harlequins will open the last eight matches against Blak Blad at 2:20 PM, followed by Nondescripts facing Strathmore Leos at 4:00 PM.
Hosts Impala RFC will then take on Mwamba RFC at 5:40 PM, before defending champions Menengai Oilers close out the day against KCB RFC at 7:20 PM.
In the Varsities Category, matches will be staged at both Impala Club and RFUEA Grounds, with Kabete Stallions facing USIU at 10:20 AM at Impala Club, while JKUAT meet Impala Swaras at the same time at the RFUEA Grounds.
At noon, Mean Machine battle Daystar University at Impala Club, with KCA University clashing with Zetech University at the RFUEA Grounds.
The Women’s Category will begin with the semifinals where Mwamba Ladies take on Northern Suburbs, while Impala Roans battle Harlequins. Timings and venues for these fixtures will be confirmed later.
