Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has moved to strengthen its board after appointing five new non-executive directors, bringing together experienced professionals from Kenya and Uganda to help steer the company's governance and long-term strategy.
The appointments, which took effect on July 28, 2026, were announced in a public notice issued on Wednesday. KPC said the new board members have experience in economics, engineering, energy, finance and public administration and are expected to strengthen oversight as the company pursues its strategic goals.
Those appointed are Ramathan Ggoobi, Irene Pauline Bateebe, Meshack Otieno Kidenda, Samson Kipkemboi Burgei and CPA Ronald Kenyanya Nyamosi.
KPC said Ggoobi is Uganda's Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury in the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. It described him as an economist and public policy expert with experience in macroeconomic policy, development economics and public financial management.
The company also appointed Bateebe, who serves as Uganda's Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development. According to KPC, she has more than 20 years of experience in the energy, petroleum and mining sectors, with expertise in infrastructure financing, renewable energy and institutional reforms.
Kidenda joins the board with more than four decades of experience in infrastructure development and public administration. KPC said he previously served as the first Director General of the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and held several senior leadership positions in government before retiring from public service in 2016.
Burgei has been appointed as the alternate director to the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning. KPC said he is the Technical Advisor for Treasury Cash Management at the National Treasury and previously served in senior roles at the Central Bank of Kenya.
CPA Nyamosi will serve as the alternate director to the Managing Trustee and Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). According to KPC, he is the fund's General Manager for Finance and Investments and has over 20 years of experience in finance, investments, insurance, pensions and risk management.
KPC said the appointments bring together a broad mix of professional skills that will strengthen the board's oversight role and help drive the company's long-term objectives.
"The Board warmly welcomes the new Directors and looks forward to working with them as they assume their governance responsibilities," the company said.
The company added that the appointments are expected to support its strategic objectives, long-term sustainability and commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance.
