“I am looking forward to improving further in upcoming competitions. This win means a lot, but it also motivates me to keep working hard,” he said.

In the women’s events, 44-year-old Essa Aatifa of Bandari Swim Club won the 50m butterfly in 44.26 seconds. Sheila Kioi of Hospital Hill finished second, while Rosemary Mwangi of Otters Swim Club placed third.
The Mombasa event brought together over 200 swimmers from 35 teams across Kenya, as well as participants from Uganda and Tanzania. Kenya Aquatics Technical Director Omar Omari highlighted the strong participation, noting that the results will help in selecting Team Kenya for the upcoming Africa Championship in Algeria next month.
Omari also announced that the fourth Kenya Aquatics National Masters Swimming Championship will be held next year at Greensteds International School in Nakuru County. Another major event on the calendar is the 11th Africa Aquatics Zone 3 Masters Swimming Championship, set to take place later this year in Kampala, Uganda.
Clubs that participated in the championships included Mombasa Masters Swim Club, Harpoons, Parklands Sports Club, Genesis Sports Limited, Water Warriors Swim Club, Kenya Para Swimming Federation, and Torpedo, among others.
