Chief Officer for Environment Geoffrey Mosiria maintained that legal action is the only viable method to enforce sanitation regulations
Chief Officer for Environment and Public Health Geoffrey Mosiria said the county is intensifying efforts to restore order in the city by targeting both illegal traders and the customers who support them.
Mosiria recounted a distressing encounter while responding to public complaints over excessive noise in a residential zone near the State House and Kilimani.
Mosiria clarified that the enforcement of city by-laws should not be viewed as an attack on the urban poor.
Mosiria emphasized that anyone caught littering or spitting in public spaces will be arrested and prosecuted according to county regulations.
The CEC also ordered the immediate removal of structures constructed on top of drainage systems.
