The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced a planned temporary shutdown of its Integrated Customs Management System (iCMS) for major maintenance starting Saturday evening.

The system will be offline for 36 hours, from 6pm on February 7, 2026, until 6am on Monday, February 9, 2026, affecting various customs operations across the country.

In a statement released on Friday, February 6, KRA informed importers, exporters, clearing agents, shipping lines, partner government agencies, and the public about the scheduled maintenance. "We wish to inform partner government agencies, importers, exporters, clearing agents, shipping lines, and the general public of scheduled major maintenance for the iCMS," the Authority said.

The exercise is aimed at improving the platform’s performance, speeding up transaction processing, and offering a more reliable experience for users.

The Authority highlighted that stakeholders who rely on the system, particularly for cargo clearance, should submit urgent declarations and complete payments ahead of the downtime.

KRA cautioned that time-sensitive and perishable consignments should be prioritised to avoid delays.

While the system will be offline, customer support services will remain available throughout the maintenance period, the Authority added. "KRA regrets any inconvenience caused and appreciates the cooperation of all stakeholders as we improve our service delivery," the statement read.

Residents and businesses experiencing challenges during the system downtime are encouraged to contact KRA through official social media channels, email, or telephone lines.

The iCMS plays a critical role in the country’s customs operations, helping manage cargo clearance, revenue collection, and cross-border trade processes at ports nationwide.

This maintenance update is part of a series of recent KRA reforms aimed at improving efficiency in cargo handling and streamlining tax filing processes.
