The Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) has turned to ordinary Kenyans to help bankroll Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka's 2027 presidential campaign after unveiling a Paybill number and calling on supporters to contribute towards the State House bid.
In a statement released on Wednesday, July 22, the party urged Kenyans from across the country to donate to the campaign, saying the country's future depends on citizens taking responsibility for the leadership they want.
WPF said the fundraising drive is intended to give the public an opportunity to play a direct role in the campaign while promoting politics supported by citizens instead of powerful financial interests.
“This country will not change until its people decide to own it. Kenya does not belong to politicians.
“It belongs to you. Your voice, your effort, and your contribution will determine what tomorrow looks like. Be part of it,” the statement read in part.
The party asked supporters to make their contributions through Paybill Number 400200 using Account Number 728282. The account is registered under the name Hon. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
According to WPF, every donation reflects support for accountable leadership and demonstrates that political campaigns can be sustained through public goodwill.
“Your contribution proves that Kenya can be powered by honest people, not cartels or corruption,” the party added.
The announcement comes a day after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna introduced the Linda Mwananchi Paybill and encouraged Kenyans to support the initiative with contributions of any amount.
Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, July 21, Sifuna said supporters could donate as little as Sh10, adding that every contribution would count towards the movement.
“The Paybill number is 3033049. You will see 'E. Sifuna' as the account name. Send me those Ksh 10 contributions, and I will later announce how much we have raised," Sifuna said.
On Tuesday evening, the Linda Mwananchi movement announced it had collected Sh519,144 following Sifuna's appeal.
The movement said the average contribution was Sh55, with the highest individual donation standing at Sh5,000 while the smallest amount received was Sh1.
“Ever since Senator Edwin Sifuna appeared on the morning show, Kenyans of goodwill have come through. Thank you so much,” Linda Mwananchi stated.
