A foreign national was killed on Thursday afternoon after being struck by a presidential convoy along Ngong Road near Adams Arcade.
The victim, a middle-aged white man, was reportedly attempting to cross the busy road when he was hit.
The convoy was traveling from Lang’ata toward Kibra constituency at the time of the incident. Witnesses suggest the pedestrian may not have been aware of the fast-approaching vehicles.
The deceased's body has been transferred to the City Mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the National Police Service says it's handling the matter and investigations have commenced.
"We encourage anyone with information that may assist with the investigation to report to the nearest police station or through our toll-free numbers: 999, 911, 112, and #FichuakwaDCI 0800 722. 203," said a statement by the Police Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga.
The NPS also urged motorists, pedestrians, and all other road users to exercise extreme caution and adhere to traffic rules to prevent accidents.
