In Summary

On Saturday night, February 28, 2026, family members and several leaders gathered at the MTRH morgue to receive the body.

The body of Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno will be flown to Nairobi on Sunday, marking the start of final arrangements for the lawmaker who died in the Nandi helicopter crash.

His remains are set to be transferred from the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue in Eldoret to Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.

A hearse and a coffin had earlier been delivered to the facility in readiness for the transfer.

Among those present was Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii.

The hearse is expected to transport the body to Eldoret International Airport, where it will be airlifted to the capital.

At the same time, the bodies of five other victims who lost their lives in the chopper crash in Nandi will be taken to different morgues.

A sombre mood filled the morgue compound as hundreds of mourners joined leaders to pay their respects.

The bodies, wrapped in body bags, were carried in a police Land Rover under escort by ambulances and other emergency vehicles.

Governors Jonathan Bii, Stephen Sang and Wisley Rotich were present, alongside several MPs.

The procession from the morgue reflected the heavy grief surrounding the death of the Emurua Dikirr legislator and the other victims of the tragic crash.
