Police in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, have arrested three suspects linked to a violent robbery that occurred early Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Kitale Bus Park area.

In an update by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the incident was reported by the victim, who informed police that at about 5:00 a.m., he was confronted by three men riding a red TVS Motorcycle with registration number KMEW 083C.

“The assailants, wielding knives and pangas, descended on him and robbed him of a Tecno Camon 40 mobile phone, a laptop, spanners and a car control computer packed in a black bag,” read part of the statement from the investigative agency.

During the brief encounter, the victim sustained minor injuries to his face and hands.

Officers from Kitale Police Station launched an immediate response and intercepted the motorcycle at the Laini Moja area, where the rider, identified as Alex Inanga, was arrested.

Upon interrogation, the suspect led officers to the Mitume area, where his accomplices, John Ekai alias Steve and Richard Andaa alias Riche, were found asleep in a mud house and were arrested.

“A search conducted inside the house yielded a black bag containing the stolen Tecno Camon 40 mobile phone, spanners and a penknife,” the DCI said.

The recovered items were later positively identified by the victim. The victim was treated at Kijana Wamalwa Teaching and Referral Hospital and discharged in stable condition.

The three suspects are currently in police custody and are being processed to face charges of robbery with violence.
